DON'T SUFFER WITH BLOCKED EARS AND REDUCED HEARING!
Get in touch with Gill, a qualified ear care specialist based in Moreton, Wirral.
Hi, I'm Gill. I am a highly experienced and qualified Hearing Care Specialist and have worked in the hearing care industry on the Wirral for 6 years. I now run my own UK insured earwax removal business.
I understand how debilitating blocked ears can be. I have treated many patients with blocked ears and some of the most common complaints are:
"I hate being in company when I can't hear what anyone is saying, so I don't go out".
"When I'm sat in meetings, colleagues are shouting at me and having to repeat themselves".
"I can't hear what is being said down the phone to me".
"My husband/wife/children are constantly telling me to have my ears cleared!".
"I can't even hear the television".
Earwax is a natural substance that helps to protect the ear canal, but an excessive amount can block your hearing and even cause pain or infection.
It is important to keep your ears healthy and clean but you should never attempt to remove excess earwax yourself at home as this could cause damage to the delicate structures in and around the ear canal.
You should always see a hearing care specialist for professional removal.
What To Expect At Your Appointment
I will look in your ears to assess your overall ear health and to see if you need earwax removing. The procedure will then be clearly explained to you and you will be shown the equipment I will be using.
MICROSUCTION
This treatment should be painless, but may be a little uncomfortable and noisy. I will look in your ears using a microscope then a small suction device is used to clear out the wax.
EAR SYRINGING/IRRIGATION
This uses a gentle flow of room temperature water to flush the ear wax out.
Afterwards, your ears will be thoroughly checked to ensure all wax has been removed and that there are no signs of infection. I will then give you advice following on from your treatment.
The whole procedure should take approximately 10-20 minutes.
You may benefit from earwax removal if you are suffering from:
EARACHE/BLOCKED EARS
Compacted ear wax can cause pressure on the ear drum and ear canals causing pain and discomfort.
TINNITUS
This may be a ringing, buzzing or humming sound in your ears.
VERTIGO
This can be a spinning/dizzy sensation which can affect your balance.
